OLYMPIC PARK
Built for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Utah Olympic Park is located in Park City, just 25 miles east of Salt Lake City, Utah. The nearly 400 acre venue houses one of only four sliding tracks in North America, six Nordic ski jumps, a 2002 Winter Games museum, and a multitude of adventure activities. Utah Olympic Park is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in winter sports in the state of Utah and is an official USOC Training Site.
This place is great for a full or half day family outing. It's 30-35min from the cabin and is always hopping.
There is a free museum that is really cool, has a lot of historical retro ski gear and equipment. There are activities that are set up like 'day pass tickets' or a-la-carte in the summer like alpine slide, extreme tubing and zip lines. You can even take the bobsled for a real track ride- incredible experience. If you can plan it and can watch the pro skiers training on the jumps that is a great activity- amazing for all ages.
There is some hiking here and on the way back to the cabin you can go through Park City and grab food at one of the restaurants.
